The Minnesota Association of Geriatric Inspired Clinicians (MAGIC) is a statewide, interdisciplinary organization dedicated to advancing exceptional care for older adults by supporting the clinicians who serve them. MAGIC welcomes clinicians and healthcare professionals from all disciplines who are passionate about improving care for older adults.

MAGIC is proud to be the Minnesota Chapter of the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) and PALTmed (Post Acute and Long Term Care Medicine), linking Minnesota clinicians to national leadership, evidence based guidance, and advocacy while maintaining a strong local focus.

History and Foundation

Founded in 1978 as the Minnesota Medical Directors Association, MAGIC evolved in 2017 to reflect the changing landscape of geriatric and medically complex care and to welcome broader interdisciplinary participation.

MAGIC combines the strength of a long standing organization with a forward looking vision for the future of older adult care.

MAGIC ACE: Alliance for Clinical Excellence

MAGIC’s work is strengthened by MAGIC ACE (Alliance for Clinical Excellence)—a committee of geriatric primary care organizations and professionals dedicated to developing evidence based clinical approaches to care for our patients.

MAGIC ACE serves as:

• A clinical resource for medical directors and clinicians
• A forum for shared expertise in geriatric primary, post acute, and long term care
• A mechanism for translating evidence into practical guidance aligned with real world care settings
