Welcome MAGIC Member:
Welcome to the Minnesota Association of Geriatrics Inspired Clinicians (MAGIC). We are excited to have you join our organization. MAGIC is a membership organization whose purpose is to support its members as they advocate for, and serve those, with complex medical needs. Its predecessor organization, the Minnesota Medical Directors Association, was founded in 1978. MAGIC was created in 2017 as an organization with broader membership and in response to the changing paradigm of care for older, and medically complex, persons.
We acknowledge it takes all of us that have a vested interested in the delivery of health care to the geriatric population to make advancements in our field. We see a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the current culture and enrich the delivery of geriatric health care. We recognize the importance of our collective voice working together. We are glad that you want to become engaged and involved.
Please take time to review our website, www.minnesotageriatrics.org. There are many ways to be involved in MAGIC: We have a number of Committees: Education Committee, Annual Meeting Committee, Membership Committee, Topics Newsletter Committee, Advocacy Committee and Clinical Practice Alliance Committee (CPAC). Feel free to attend our board meetings also, these typically happen once a quarter. We encourage you to attend our annual fall conference, where we address major clinical, policy and leadership issues related to care of older adults and those in long-term care settings in Minnesota.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Heidi Holste, Executive Director at 612-708-1982 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
